I didn't count my totals, but I'd love to tell you about #2 (swimming with wild dolphins). It's actually illegal in the States, and we didn't do it deliberately. We were dragging our 99-foot shrimp net along the shore of a Georgia island when suddenly my husband heard a "shark-like" snort at his shoulder and to our relief we found that a family of dolphins had come in to rob our catch. We were thrilled. I confess we didn't hurry to get out of the water. It happened again the following summer as well.

One more: as a child of way-northern Michigan, I often had the huge privilege of seeing the Northern Lights. Beautiful, mysterious, unsettling.

Love,
Carol

I think it's probably illegal here to touch a wild dolphin but there's a place on the WA coast (that's Western Australia) called Monkey Mia where you can feed dolphins, they come right up to you in the water!
